PDO (polydiaxonone) is used as dissolvable suture material throughout the world. PDO lasts for about nine months and is easy to insert. They are mounted on a needle or cannula (for added safety) and are inserted into the face in a fan-like or parallel pattern to achieve the best lift. PDO is a very versatile material; the cannula method makes the procedure straightforward. PDO threads tend to be up to 9cm in length with various arrangements of fixing patterns such as barbs, cogs and teeth. Up to 6-10 threads are used per side.

PDO threads are very versatile and can be used for large or small areas. Some PDO threads are created to add volume, others can lift. A combination of difference sorts can achieve a full-face result.
