Perspiration can be a real problem and is normally associated with stress. It can easily controlled with botulinum toxin. As well as reducing muscle movement the toxin also inhibits the secretion of the sweat glands.
This fortuitous observation was made on faces paralysed by various medical conditions, such as a stroke. When paralysed the face becomes line free and dry – due to reduced perspiration and oil secretion. Some benefit has come from suffering.
Botulinum toxin is injected at the level of the sweat glands, literally just under the skin. The effects last much longer than the facial effects and treatment is usually highly successful - and liberating.
