OFFERS AND UPDATES

Just a few exciting new things.

Firstly, we are getting our IPL machine!! Hoorah!! This is the Cutera Xeo system and will be able to treat brown spots and red veins. It's much stronger than our existing IPL machine, the PPX device. It also has a feature called "Laser Genesis" - this is like a hot wand (of laser light) that we play over the face. It helps to regenerate collagen and has no downtime. The face is just a little bit red but otherwise looks absolutely fabulous. Great just before a hot date, a photo shoot or a wedding. Plus it is a relaxing treatment. We'll get round to updating the website soon, but this is hot off the press!!

Secondly - a warning about the sun. Dr Elisabeth spent one of her Continued Professional Development days with a colleague. Dr Ruth Harker of Ivybridge Surgery, Devon, runs a mole clinic, removing any moles that look suspicious. Dr Ruth explained the dangers of the sun (as if we don't know) - sun exposure weakens the immune system and sunburn damages the DNA. This was graphically demonstrated by the nasty lesions that she had to remove - many of them in young people. PLEASE DON'T DO IT - PLEASE TAKE CARE IN THE SUN.

After a busy day of minor surgery, Dr Elisabeth added to Dr Ruth's cosmetic skills; there was a mutual exchange of knowledge (and treatments!!).
